THE ACT OF GRATITUDE

Miss Jane, a hardworking, disciplined, and professional lady wonders why she hasn’t been promoted or why she isn’t getting the favor she deserves in her place of work and why life has been so unfair to her?

Let’s take a look at Miss Jane's life.

Jane lives with her single mother, who makes sure there is food prepared for her by the time she gets home from work. Her siblings are so cooperative and are always ready to answer her calls whenever she needs their attention.

Just because she hasn’t been promoted, Jane feels stressed, used, and pressured, and having these thoughts weighs her down and sometimes gets her depressed.

Even though she goes to church and understands what the scripture says, Jane rarely inculcates the act of Thanksgiving.

She grumbles and complains about all that happens in her office, how she didn’t get the promotion, forgetting how blessed she is to have a supportive family.

One day Jane heard her colleagues lamenting how much they have to work at the office and still get home to do all the house chores, then it dawned on her how ungrateful she has been never to appreciate God for her family.

The Act of Gratitude is a spiritual fertilizer in one's life that can skyrocket the present status of a man to his next level. Appreciation should not be a seasonal act.

Many believe that we can only show gratitude when things are working perfectly well in our lives the way we want them to, which isn’t right.

Being grateful is a habit we need to inculcate in our day-to-day living, it should be a way of life.

The Scripture urges that we be thankful to God in all things and at all times. 1Thessalonians 5:18

One thing about kingdom principles is that God's spiritual principles do not make worldly sense, but by these principles, we excel.

In Psalm 107:1 and Ephesians 5:20, we are admonished to give thanks ALWAYS in EVERYTHING.

WHY SHOULD WE SHOW GRATITUDE?

  1. Showing gratitude qualifies you for more. (Luke 17:1-19).
  2. Having a grateful heart unlocks your altitude to life. David as a case study was a man that lived his life in gratitude and thanksgiving to God. (Psalm 100,150…)
  3. Being grateful is a kingdom force for the increase in every sphere and multiplication amounts to growth. (Mark 6: 41: 44)
  4. Showing gratitude is a kingdom force for renewal and restoration. (John 11).

When you are not grateful to things happening around you, your life begins to diminish and shrink because you will only end up doing the opposite which is complaining and grumbling about what other friends and colleagues have which you don’t. This will yield negative results and lead to depression.

Be thankful because life is in levels and gratitude takes one from one level to another level.

Until you give THANKS to God, DON’T asks for anything.

Show gratitude!
