Why You Should Put Your Hope in God!


Many Christians today don't know why they HOPE IN GOD, some do it because they were told to while others are merely doing it for the sake of it. If you were asked today "why you hope in God?" What would be your answer? 

Hope is the feeling of an expectation and passion for a certain thing to happen. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Many today put their hope in education, career, relationships, desire, stock market, money, family and friends, etc.

Maybe you do the above, but as good as all these are, it is very pertinent not to trust in them alone and understand that we live in a world full of uncertainties.

We need to connect, believe, and put our hope in a BEING that is higher than us, which will trigger our strength to keep going on the right track when uncertainties of life sets in. That is, to ensure your hope is rooted in the all-knowing GOD because education, relationships, career, the stock market, money, family and friends, etc may fail but the ALMIGHTY GOD never fails.

God authorizes our full confident trust in Him.

When the world filled with failure and darkness encourages us to believe and hope in ourselves, Christ said to us in Matthew 4:19 "And He said to them, come after Me [as disciples—letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men" (AMPC). He admonishes us to follow him as disciples and let Him be our guide and teach us God's principles, which will help us navigate life and achieve success. 

For us to completely put our hope in God, we truly need to understand who we are in God and His purpose for us.

RATIONAL FOR PUTTING YOUR HOPE IN GOD 

  • When You Put Your Hope in God, He Will Finish the Work He Began in You:

    “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” says the Lord.
    “Look carefully, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel." -Jeremiah 18:6 AMP.

     God wants to mold and shape us into something of desirable beauty. The process is not quick, nor does it always feel pleasant, but we can trust the potter to finish what he has begun in us.
    Our trials in the world can be discouraging most times, but God promised to give us an expected End.

    He promises to guide us through to the very end, of what He started, regardless of the discomfort, discouraging times, and desperation that will face along the way.

  • Channelling your hope in God opens the channel for God to speak to you:

    Here, many get it wrong by just waiting for God to speak directly, you don't need to wait because God speaks always, not necessarily in the language we often demand, BUT HE SPEAKS.

    All you need is to seek the provision God has made for us to know what He is saying concerning what we are passing through written in the scriptures (the word of God). The word of God is the sword of the spirit. So, our stand in God is what we need to live wisely.
    Romans 5:1 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 

  •  Trust Him Because His Mercy Endureth Forever.

    No one can stand before the most Holy God except He grants you access. What God has done is that he has created a system for His mercy to flow around us. He has loved us, offered us forgiveness in Christ, also declared us righteous. "Therefore, there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]." -Romans 8:1 AMP.

    He said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I have compassion” Romans 9:15 AMP.

    God blesses people with His grace and mercy, not because they deserve it but because it is God's nature to give grace and mercy. Neither grace nor mercy can be demanded, they can only be gratefully accepted.

    Romans 8:24-25 For in this hope we were saved, remember the hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. 

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HOPE IN GOD IS ALWAYS TO INSPIRE US TO LIVE LIFE THE BEST WAY AND IN FULFILLMENT. 


So, build your hope in God firmly as this will offer you the courage and inspiration to stick to your dreams. If you have strong hope, and faith in God, nothing can stop you. You will blaze the trail and hit the mark.
