THE ROLE OF MEDIA IN THE CHURCH

Image
In this century and age where everyone is going tech-savvy and the media world is becoming the trend and call, how well is the church utilizing this platform to spread the gospel of Christ?  How is the church taking over the world using the online platform which is the major trend and call in this age?  These are questions that Christians and believers need to answer in the quest to bridge the gap.  The media of any firm or organization is the marketing department. They practically act as the middle man in any firm and extension in church.  The first question JESUS asked in Matthew 16: 13-19 is very key…. Who do people say I am and in extension who do the media say JESUS is? What do the media portray of CHRIST? What picture do the media paint of Christ? With the fast growth in the media world today, there are lots of contents and wrong expressions that are against the doctrine of the Bible which in turn gives the Lord a bad name which we as Christians need to pay close attention to an

MY DOMINION DOES NOT END IN THE CHURCH

Image
So after much deliberation, I decided to share this story …finally! Sir Felix and Mr. Caleb, my interesting neighbours. The former (Sir Felix) a well-to-do business tycoon but a pharmacist by profession while the latter, a lecturer in a prestigious university. They are both Christians, learned yet different in values, and stand in regards to business, politics, and societal issues. Out of curiosity, I decided to visit them… yes I need to feed my curiosity. Mr. Caleb’s insight on how he lived his life while preparing for Christ 2nd coming portrayed the picture of a religious man, should I say a step away from being a fanatic. He believes Christians shouldn’t get involved with political or societal issues because it is worldly and likely to divert their heavenly focus, do not be yoked with unbelievers, he said. He believes the world isn’t his so he left the affairs of the world to be facilitated by the unbelievers, I was Shocked. As Christians, are we not meant to take charge and call th

MOTIVATED YET STAGNANT

Image
"Bud, can I confide in you? Gab asked a few minutes after she walked in looking exhausted. Bud, I feel most of these Motivational Speakers and books lie to us. I read them most times, you can attest to that. "yeah sure... I'm attentive" Yet it seems not to be taking effect in my life. How sure are we that they are telling us everything we need to know? Gab said staring while expecting an answer. Bud stared too, wasn't sure if it was a question or statement. To avoid an awkward silence, Bud settled for the former. "Well Gab, truth is... I'm yet to get your point. What exactly is the issue, is it that you don't believe them or that you find their stories untrue? "well, I'm not sure. I feel they are blowing it out of proportion. I've been following their update and reading every recommendation Yet my success story seems far away. "Gab so you listen to motivational speakers and then do what? I asked. "Do what? What else am I expect

Why You Should Put Your Hope in God!

Image
Many Christians today don't know why they HOPE IN GOD, some do it because they were told to while others are merely doing it for the sake of it. If you were asked today "why you hope in God?" What would be your answer?  Hope is the feeling of an expectation and passion for a certain thing to happen. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Many today put their hope in education, career, relationships, desire, stock market, money, family and friends, etc. Maybe you do the above, but as good as all these are, it is very pertinent not to trust in them alone and understand that we live in a world full of uncertainties. We need to connect, believe, and put our hope in a BEING that is higher than us, which will trigger our strength to keep going on the right track when uncertainties of life sets in. That is, to ensure your hope is rooted in the all-knowing GOD because education, relationships, career, the stock market, mon

How To Live A Fruitful Life.

Image
“A disciplined mind leads to happiness, and an undisciplined mind leads to suffering.” This quote should become everyone’s motto if they want to live a fruitful life . We all know the fast-paced nature of life in the modern-day world. There is too much work to do, too little time to do it, and on top of it all, there is cut-throat competition. For one to be able to stay through to his or her course, such person needs Self Discipline. Contrary to common belief, self-discipline does not mean being harsh toward yourself or living a limited, restrictive lifestyle. Self-discipline means self-control, which is a sign of inner strength and control of yourself, your actions, and your reactions. Self-control is listed in the Bible as one of the Fruits of the Spirit which is a sign that Christ is in you. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FORBEARANCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, and SELF-CONTROL. Against such things, there is no law. If we let o

HOW TO PROSPER IN CAREER AND BUSINESS

Image
To everything in this world, there are principles governing them. There have to be planting season before harvest. These principles are without exception, no wonder the Bible says "see a man diligent in his work, he will seat with kings and not mean men". Biblical principles of prosperity are very much applicable to all men. It is quite unfortunate that believers do not take full advantage of the grace presented to them. Some may ask, How do I operate in God’s economy as a Christian? Having establish that there are principles/law governing the earth. To thrive or excel in any sphere on Earth, you need to take cognizance of these principles. As Christians, God commanded us to have dominion here on earth while preparing for the kingdom. Believers are expected to call the shots in every sphere, we are meant to lead in all fairs of life.  (be it in Media sector, politics, education, etc.) There are no shortcuts to prosperity, only fool thinks there are. Prayers and Fasting can no

WHAT IF EASTER DIDN'T EXIST?

Image
Death laid his hands on Jesus. It put Jesus in a tomb. There was a stone in the mouth of that tomb and the seal of the Roman government was placed upon that tomb. But on the third day, Jesus Christ stirred Himself. He rose from the sleep of death, Jesus Christ passed through the walls of that rock-hewn tomb. Jesus Christ is Alive. He is not behind us in a tomb but before us on a throne. I want to ask you a question. Suppose that had not happened. Suppose death still held Jesus like it does to those that died before him and after him? WHAT IF EASTER DIDN'T EXIST? 1 Corinthians 15:12-19. I’ll admit, it’s a loaded question. Much like, “What if you were never born?” That question is heavy, strong, and loaded. But this question, "WHAT IF EASTER DIDN'T EXIST?" should be considered very carefully. Because the truth is, an entire faith hinges upon this event. Churches today exist because they believe in Easter, in the resurrection. Countless millions of people place their fai
